Samsung Electronics Co. is free to sell its Galaxy tablet computers in Australia after the country's highest court Friday dismissed rival Apple's appeal in its global patent battle. #8. Vips and Outback

  There are two popular family restaurants in Korea. They are VIPS and OUTBACK.

Both are casual dining restaurant chain based on the serving steak and salad. All meat is heavily seasoned various spice blend for the steaks themselves and grilled in a short time. Also, both are making a elegant atmosphere and interior. Therefore, we can feel comfortable when we have a meal.

 

 But, They are different of main item. The main of VIPS is salad bar rather than steak. Salad bar provide extensive menu and we can eat without limit. If you want to enjoy salad bar with steak not just salad bar, you can enjoy everything just a little more pay for the money. On the contrary to this, OUTBACK is mainly serving steak and pasta not salad, and we can feel comfortable in OUTBACK because there are individual waiter. So, we can ask them without hesitation anything. Moreover, we can eat a bread for nothing before the main meal is served.

 

  In conclusion, If you want to eat freely various fresh food in the way of buffet, you may go VIPS. If you want to eat high-class steak and pasta, you may go OUTBACK. In my case, I want to eat various food without limit like buffet. Actually, both of them are very expensive. Therefore, I prefer to eat the various one if it costs the same.

#7. Europe and Korea

 Cultural differences in Europe came as a shock to me. In the summer of 2006, I went to Europe alone for a month. I exactly went to 9 counties and Italy was the best in terms of cultural differences. Besides, climate, environment and cuisine are very different from Korea. They looked free but sometimes complicated.

 

 First, there are a lot of street performances in Europe even in the train. Everywhere I could enjoy their performances free of charge. It was very impressive and sometimes I felt peaceful. I heard that they have to pay the money for their performing. But they looked so happy. In contrast, we are hard to find street performances in Korea. The street in front of Hong-ik University was symbolic of performance. But now, we can’t find even in that street.

 

 Second, We have to pay about 2 thousand won in order to use the toilets in Europe even in the Mcdonald. There are keepers or machine in front of the toilet to gey a money. Also, water should be ordered separately in restaurant. Of course I paid money to drink water. It can not imagine in Korea. It is just a service. We don’t need to pay for using a toilet in Korea and drinking water in restaurant. Upon arrival in restaurant, a restaurant employee is serving a glass of water first.

 

 Lastly, the weather of summer in Europe was so hot better than Korea. So, bottled water was essential to move around. But actually, water was so expensive. It cost about 2thousand won per 500millimeter. It is a double price compared to Korea. Moreover, the sun sets early and it was already dark even in 4pm. It is earlier than expected because it become dark until 6pm in Korea. Therefore, there is a great temperature difference between day and night especially in summer.

 

 In conclusion, there are a lot of cultural differences between Europe and Korea. Services in Korea are better than in Europe, and prices in Seoul are cheaper than in Europe. On the other hand, European looks more enjoy and relax their life than Korean. Most of korean are tied down to their job, so they always looks so tired of living. Both are good to me, but I want to feel totally free at least once that I have never felt. I want to spend my middle age by doing what I want to work in Korea, and I will spend my old age in Europe with my family.

#6. Abortion should be permmited.

 Although women knows abortion causes fatal consequence, they try to abortion to get rid of unwanted pregnance. They don’t want to get a baby, when people have an unwanted pregnancy. It is very dangerous both baby and mother. Therefore, abortion should be permitted to avoid these harmful situation.

 

Above all, there are many economic problems that make harder life. There are not yet enough welfare policies in Korea, and most people don’t have enough money to take care of their baby. Therefore, children can suffer from financial problem and their family can have financial burden. In this situation, how can live their own life? Some people say there are a lot of things to prevent pregnance like condom and birth control. But it can not perfect prevent a pregnance and nobody knows what happens in our life.

 

Woman has the right to decide what happens in her body. Fetus is a part of woman’s body. Some people say abortion is murder. But, fetus isn’t a person yet. It is aborted before a perfect person. To become a person, they should have a life and heart. They can’t think or feel anything because they don’t have a brain yet especially in the age of pregnancy.

 

For these reasons, abortion should be permitted. Especially, they don’t want to have a baby due to a financial problem. Moreover, all of it is happened in her body. Therefore, we have to respect woman’s decide. But, abortion should be the last action not the first, and abort in the young age of pregnancy.

 

#5. Abortion is murder.

 Woman who did abortion can have fatal consequences. For example, they never have a baby in her lifetime and can result in medical disease later in life. But many people try to abortion to get rid of unwanted pregnance. Abortion has always been one of the most argumentative subject.

 

 In my opinion, abortion must be banned. Abortion is a murder because it is taking human life. Baby has the right to life. What is more important than life? Who can decide their life? Abortion has been already banned in Korea. But actually, it become a really common thing nowaday. This is morally wrong.

 

 Above all, Abortion is a murder. many children have been killed due to abortion. If people who did abortion had given them a chance to live, children could realize that life is so worthwhile. This is reducing human rights. Unborn child is alive from the moment of pregnancy and has the right to life. Some people say that fetus is not yet a baby, and it's only a potential life. Even if the fetus isn't complete, it would be a full born baby. Think the fact that if you kill a woman who are in the period of pregnant, then you will be arrested on a charge of murder for two person.

 

 The most common case of abortion is resulting from carelessness, not rape. When it comes to rape, I think they can have choice to abort or not. I support either decision. But I heard only 1% of abortion happen due to rape. Moreover, their are a lot of things to prevent pregnance like condom, birth control and technological equipments. Also common case is financial difficulties. Many people often said they don't have enough to support baby. Isn't they careless? They should have been more careful if they didn't want a child. I think that people who have abortions are selfish and only thinking about themselves. If they really care about the baby, They can't do that. It is completely wrong.

 

 For these reasons, abortion must be banned. This is very fundamental problem. Fetus has a right to live, So no one can't decide their life. We always have to take care to prevent pregnance through some equipment such as condom and birth control. If necessary, Abortion should always be the last action, not the first. But, keep in mind that Abortion is murder.

 

#4. My thrilling experience of stock trading.

I started stock trading two years ago. I think that stock trading is really attractive and we feel heaven when we get money through the stock trading. But, as time goes by, I realized that it is not always attractive and sometimes we also feel hell.

 

Keeping my own philosophy of investment is really important to get a revenue. But it is really difficult to keep my own philosophy after we start investing. I always keep in mind I never do that. But..

 

Long-term investment through the business analysis and seeing the value of company are my philosophy of investment. Although Returns of my stock price were steadily fall down, also there was a period of good rate of return. So I continue to wait to keep my own philosophy of Long-term investment. Actually, it was not so fun and boring because I couldn’t make a lot of money.

One day, I accidentally watched a tv program related to finance. Well known analysts were recommending skyrocketing stocks. Actually the price of stocks soared to upper limit(+15%), and the next day did, too. Although my mind wavered, I tried to keet my face. But These mind was not last for very long. I was hard to refuse the temptation. Finally, I sold all of my existing stocks and bought stocks they recommended. As expected, It soared to upper limit and upper limit!! I was so happy. I thought that It is easy to make money!! But suddenly, the price sharply went down and reached lower limit(-15%), and next day did, too. eventually I lost almost all the money...

 

I felt many things through this experience. Also, I felt once again that keeping my own philosophy of investment is really important. Moreover, I thought the difference of investment and speculative. Do not be moved with the words of others. Let's investment at the company's value. Then we can make money!!

(And Some analysts are fraud.)

#3. Haeundae in Busan

I want to describe a beautiful beach named Haeundae in Busan. It is the most famous beach in Korea where many tourists take a visit every summer. People gather from various regions, so being in the field is interesting itself and there are so many hot men and women. Upon arrival in Haeundae, we can see the wide blue sea and a lot of pretty gulls flying over the sea. There are many people who swimming in the sea, playing beach volleyball on the white shining sand, taking a photo with friends and playing water sports like wakeboard, water skiing and banana boat. If you want to feel the sea with your whole body, I especially recommend exciting water sports. Furthermore, we can eat very fresh seafood that is clearly different from seafood selling in Seoul. In the evening, you'll also see a tremendous night view with a cool breeze and firecracker sound. If you want to feel everything mentioned above, do not hesitate to go next summer.

 

#2. Ahn Chul-Soo.

I admire Ahn Chul-Soo. He is one of the most respected person. Many people like him due to his challenge and personality. Nowadays, He was an issue because he may run for mayor of Seoul. I’ll tell you why people including me admire him.

 

Ahn is a good example of challenging spirit. Until now, Ahn has been constantly studying and isn’t afraid challenge of the new field. He was a Doctor, programmer, CEO, Professor and best-selling writer. He came to our school last year for seminar. I’m impressed by his spirit of challenge. Ahn graduated United States University of Pennsylvania MBA(2008), United States Institute of the University of Pennsylvania Master of Engineering(1997), Seoul National University(1986). We can feel something just when we see his education background. He graduated United States University of Pennsylvania MBA when he was 47 years old.

 

 

His works always gave us hope. If He didn’t develop antivirus program, development of the software industry will be slowed down. He gave up doctor in order to focus more on antivirus. This is famous story everyone knows.

 

 

He always respects other people and concentrates on social care. When Ahn was a doctor, he gained fame and fortune. But, He put down everything. And he established company. When he was in AhnLab, the company was well known for horizontal authority structure. When the company was poor, most of staff couldn’t get salary. But they didn’t leave their place due to faith for Ahn.

 

For these reasons, many people respect him and I expect his next move. I want to be like him who help someone else.
